Reading Rainbow Returns to Canada Day!

We are very pleased to announce that the Reading Rainbow game will be returning to Canada Day this year! The Reading Rainbow game was introduced to the event last year and was extremely popular. The game works like a cakewalk, but with books for prizes! The game ties in the Martensville Community Access Centre's focus on lifelong learning and literacy and brings an extra educational element to our fun family-friendly event!

Last year, we were very lucky to have boxes of books donated by Read Saskatoon. This year, we are looking for more donations in order to run the game more often. We are also hoping to add some adult books to the prize table to get the grown-ups involved too! If you have any books you'd like to donate, we would love to hear from you!

Martensville Business Breakfast

Heads up Martensville businesses! An information meeting regarding a business association/Chamber of Commerce is happening on March 5th- see poster below.

Canada Day 2015 Meeting

The second Canada Day committee meeting is scheduled for February 25th at 7:00 pm-8:00 pm. The meeting will take place in room #2 in the Civic Centre. Everyone is welcome regardless of whether or not you were at the first meeting. There's lots of opportunities to help- pick and choose what appeals to you! At this stage, we are discussing live entertainment options and scheduling activities. This is a huge event that needs a lot of planning time, so we hope you'll join us!

Below is our Canada Day volunteer opportunities poster for the event. Please note that volunteering on the committee in no way obligates you to volunteer on the event day!
